    At contact, when a stimulus is created, caused by excessive pressure, it does not matter if the direction is right, (that is, towards the central line), but there will always be a response that will cancel this pressure. To avoid this there is another approach to the arms accompanied by a particular movement of the torso and legs! It's the latest trial I'm doing and it works.

    It's the same thing, but extended by weapons you can pick up off the ground or in the nature around you. However, it's focus is the inside attack and the immediacy of danger the immediate violence of action. If your are not familiar with Balintawak, Arnis or Kali, as a fighter you should immediately start implementing them into your work. Empty hand balintawak is more like inside fighting/boxing, but you need to understand the work before you can adjust. Salamat Po! ❤

    For all those who havent seen Sifu Leo's previous videos, please educate yourselves by looking at them. They are fights and spars with all different types of teachers where the effectiveness of wing chun can be seen. 2nd point is go for the actual class and see the entire thing, not just the few seconds short videos. Third, study tai chi and wing chun, the philosophy, how they were developed and tested, the lineage of each style. I have been to a number of classes in london and other countries as well. I can say truthfully that Sifu Leo is one of the best. Follow the tips suggested and come to your own conclusions

    Thankyou, I think the video was very informative and looked like fun. Great to demonstrate strentghts and weaknesses and nice to see you're not just going at each other as this would only demonstrate on a personal level who may be the better when it comes to self defence. Great mutual respect and a good video from you both. I think what some may misunderstand is that this was not a demonstration of All of your talent and techniques (both of you), but rather it was structured and a tutorial to show/teach just some of the techniques and differences. Kudos to you both. Both Wing Chun and Boxing incorporate footwork and different striking, moving, patterns and counters, parrying and other techniques. To become great at one form of self defence you must try to understand and practice the others.

    It's sad because this particular Sifu is very talented and equally lucky within his martial Arts Journey todate. However In the world we live in today a Sifu of Chinese Kung Fu of your stature, respect & exposure should certainly be demonstrating valid principles like this in a way much more profound for even non Wing Chun or Chinese Martial Artists to turn their eye.. It is simply not good enough at this time. If this video was a dish at a restaurant it would be basic and really bland. This demo was not justice to the ingredients involved.

    • @leowingchun
      @leowingchun 2 місяці тому

      From your opinion what is not good enough in this video ?

    • @DarthAnakin91
      @DarthAnakin91 2 місяці тому

      @@leowingchun Personally I support & follow Sifu Leo Au Yeung (Amongst a very select others) very regularly so firstly thank you for your question and also your concern in terms of my personal opinion (in this case) as a viewer of this Chinese Martial Arts demo; Your demo, (In this case). Although your question is catered towards my ego I will get to the point, following your question, so with respect I will have to be straight forward in order to answer it; Therefore with sincerity: Where's the rhythm? Where's the realism ? Where's the opponents fleeing lines being shut down ? Where's the spice & seasoning ? Where's the Say Ging ? Where's the external conditions from your opponent ? Where's the footwork from your opponent ? Where's the intent (from both of you) ? Where's the Evasiness (from both of you) ? Where the opponents six gates being occupied ? Where's the continuous movent ? Where's the body feel ? Wheres timing the opponents second, third strikes? Where's drawing the opponent ? Where's taking advantage of the opponents helplessness ? Where's the right timing to enter being demonstrated ? ( I could go on) - Instead of facing combat in it's wholeness, therefore, most teachers (of Chinese Martial Arts at least) accumulate a "boiled down to the bottom concept" or "flat footed opponent with only one arm towards one's face with no follow up or instinct... a somewhat student waiting for direction" that distracts & cramps concepts/principles of the style which in turn distracts from the actual reality of combat and the point one is attempting to make & demonstrate. This concept/technique of entering (for Wing Chun) is very very valid & correct - you are also very very talented & knowledgeable however this demo is sad, plain & bland because it's almost an artificial technique (found at the beginning of every empty hand form of Wing Chun) and very valid indeed, But in this demonstration very ritualistically pulled back with zero intent or stimuli to represent real combat or self protection whatsoever. In this case; Real entering... The Chinese Kung Fu way. The Wing Chin Way. Therefore: (With respect) Do you feel you demonstrated the realest conditions possible on this short, on this video with a student who: 1) Is capable for effective striking 2) who clearly is experienced in sparring 3) is talented enough to throw & land during a demonstration setting for a UA-cam video (as real a possible to practice & demo real combat) to throw & land punches with contact (without creating damage) if one is perhaps not up to par to enter, block of defend... Which you are. Both in doing. And in teaching. That is why this video is not good enough for right now. For right now. For you. If it was another Sifu id say fair enough and valid point valid concept. But for you... Do you feel you did Wing Chun Chinese Martial Arts Justice In this Video (in your opinion) ?

I think you might misunderstand whats going on in this video. Imagine when a wrestler does a double leg take down, the momentum takes the opponent of balance and its almost impossible to counter once your balance is broken. Its the same with correct Kung Fu, the way of moving breaks the opponents balance so they cant counter. This video is just a simple way to demonstrate the overall concept, not showing specific techniques that you might use in a fight.
